LockCode is a daily code-cracking puzzle: use count feedback to deduce the secret digits.

LockCode is all about deduction. Each guess returns count feedback only: a green square shows how many digits are correct and in the correct position, and an amber square shows how many digits are correct but in the wrong position. The game does not reveal which digits are correct — you have to work it out.

How LockCode works

Choose difficulty: Easy (3 digits), Medium (4), Hard (5).

Reveal Clues: starts the round and shows the clue list.

Make a guess: enter digits on the keypad, then submit.

Read the feedback: green = correct + correct position (count), amber = correct digit wrong position (count).

New puzzles: released daily at midnight UTC.

What the squares mean (counts only)

Green (e.g. “1”) → 1 digit is correct and in the correct position.

Amber (e.g. “2”) → 2 digits are correct but in the wrong position.

No squares → none of the digits in that guess appear in the code.

Deduction habits that win

Eliminate fast: if a guess returns no squares, remove those digits from consideration.

Separate “in code” vs “in position”: solve membership first, then lock positions.

Change with purpose: between guesses, change 1–2 digits so feedback changes are easier to interpret.

Use probe guesses: test a set of candidates to see whether the total correct count rises or falls.

Watch overlaps: compare guesses that share digits to isolate what’s driving the result.
